We have certainly been busy in language arts the last month! Here's what we've been up to: 5th grade: We're still working on reading Wonder. It's a long book, but we've had some great discussions about how to treat people. We are also working on our Wordly Wise vocabulary program.
7th grade: We finished reading Stargirl and our discussions around popularity and self identity. Students are currently working on their science fair papers and studying their Wordly Wise vocabulary. 8th grade: We have finished reading My Brother Sam is Dead. After discussing characterization and literary conflict, students wrote and performed wonderful talk show skits in which they interviewed a character about a conflict in the story. Students are currently working on writing essays about this novel portrays war. I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving break with family and friends! Get ready for new units when you return!
